Elysian Health Clinics is committed to making the directory accessible to people of all abilities. We follow WCAG 2.1 AA as our baseline standard and continue to improve the site with help from users and accessibility specialists.

01. Standards we follow

We design and build the Service to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Where newer guidance from WCAG 2.2 strengthens the baseline, we adopt it as part of our release cycle.

These standards cover four principles — perceivable, operable, understandable and robust — and we test against each of them.

02. What we have done

  • Semantic HTML with meaningful landmarks for screen-reader navigation.
  • Keyboard-accessible interactive controls with visible focus rings.
  • Minimum 4.5:1 contrast on body text; 3:1 for large text and UI components.
  • Descriptive link text and consistent ARIA labels where icons are used.
  • Forms with persistent labels, error association and input-mode hints.
  • Reduced-motion support: animated transitions honour the prefers-reduced-motion preference.
  • Responsive layout tested against screen sizes from 320px upward.

03. Known limitations

Some limitations we are actively working on:

  • Certain provider-supplied documents are PDFs without tagged structure. We are updating our upload flow to require accessible PDFs.
  • Complex map-based search is not yet available to screen readers; a linear list alternative is always available first.

04. Reporting accessibility issues

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, we want to hear about it. Email accessibility@elysiansearch.com with a description of the issue and, if possible, the page URL and the assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge every report within two business days and to provide a plan for resolution within ten business days.
